DTW 2011 Saturday

The first lecture on Saturday was the one and only Ashley Frohlick who set the ball rolling! Prior to this great training weekend all the DTW participants have already been asked whether they had questions for Ashley. Due to the high demand with so many questions it was decided that Ashley would devote his lecture to answering all the questions he's got from the dancers, which proved very informative.

After the lecture from Ashley there was a Guided Practice from Tony & Amanda, they supervised the training and you were free to ask for their help. After a tough training everyone was ready for lunch! When lunch was over, we went to the back room for a video presentation of Ruud Vermeij. The lecture by Ruud was very inspiring and put everyone to think in a completely different way in terms of dancing.

Following the video lecture we went back to the dance floor for a lecture by Tony and Amanda. They connected the topic of the lecture to the video presentation by Ruud we have just seen, and showed how to apply the things he spoke about to ballroom dancing. How you can better experience the dance and how you can convey your message to the public were included in the topic of the lecture by Tony & Amanda. This allowed us to experiment! Become your own audience, see yourself create movement and see if the effect / magic fascinates you! Afterwards we were all full of inspiration from this lecture. Fortunately, we could then have a free practise time and stamina training!

We ended the day with a very nice BBQ!! It was a really big party with lots of the couples staying on to socialise together. Good food and delicious salads! Then the main party started and DJ Tony was on the decks and playing salsa to move those hips!! Also included was some Limbo dancing when everyone seemed to immediately get into the spirit of things and the dance floor was packed! When the party sadly ended everyone went home to get some rest and prepare themselves for the last day of the DTW; Sunday ..... .
