Dutch Amateur Championships
On 6 november the Dutch Championships for Amateurs were held at the Topsportcentrum at Almere. This year it would be different competition especially in the Headclass due to the fact that a number of couples who danced last year wouldn’t compete this year. At 10.00 o'clock in the morning the competition commenced with the first rounds in all classes. During the first rounds, the senior couples that danced their Championships the night before, arrived, as well as TeAm proffessional couples and Tony & Amanda, to cheer for our TeAmies.
The couples competing this day were:
In the A class: Dennis & Patricia, Ronald & Daphne and Leo & Felicia
In the headclass: Etienne & Anneke, Evert & Natalie, Oscar & Pauline and Yvo & Sze Ar
In the headclass, all TeAm Dokman couples were placed into the quarter final. After the quarter final we unfortunately had to say goodbye to Evert and Natalie who fell just outside the semi-final and became 14th. The other remaining headclass TeAm couples were placed into the semi-final, as well as all A class couples. After the semifinals Leo and Felicia ended on a nasty 7th place, just outside the final. Dennis and Patricia ended up at a not bad 9th place in the A-class and in that same class Ronald & Daphne impressed the judges with their beautiful dancing and were rewarded with the 2nd place.
In the headclass Yvo and Sze Ar and Etiënne and Anneke had to dance a runners-up final and finished up at respectively 9th and 11th places.
In the pinnacle of the ballroom dancing in the headclass, there were compared to last year, 3 new couples in the final including our TeAmies Oscar and Pauline and they were on fire… Unfortunally they became 6th, although in our opinion they deserved more.
We have enjoyed seeing all TeAm Dokman Amateur couples dance so very well. Keep up the good work and let’s move on to the next Championships that will be held in the weekend of 19 and 20 of May 2012.
